L'autore affronta problemi complessi di biologia utilizzando i paradigmi della scienza dell'informazione. E la cosa funziona! Ho l'impressione che questo articolo non sia un caso isolato, ma solo il primo di una serie, di una sottocultura nascente.

L'articolo parte da un'idea avuta dall'autore nell'osservare il genoma del virus H1N1. Questi mostra, come con le attuali conoscenze sia possibile modificare un virus, generalmente poco aggressivo, e renderlo molto più letale.

L'H1N1 è un virus RNA codificato in all of 8 genes. 8 pieces of RNA, identified by the following letters: PB2 PB1 PA HA NP NA NS MP ( see here). The genome of H1N1 is freely available and searchable here, for example.

Due settimane dopo il bellissimo seminario del Cppp a Vicenza sul tema della gestione educativa dei bambini tirannici, ancora mi trovo a ripensare agli spunti.
I bambini tirannici sono un fenomeno nuovo, dal punto di vista educativo e sociologico e - tristissimo a dirsi - incredibilmente interessante.
Cosa sia un bambino tirannico è ben riassunto dall'aneddototo raccontato da Daniele Novara:
Mamma - dice il bambino treenne di una coppia in consulenza - mi scaldi il latte?
Un attimo - dice lei - sto facendo una cosa.
Conto fino a tre - risponde allora il bambino - unoooo, dueeee...

Questo è un bambino tirannico.
Il seminario ha fornito spunti per l'analisi delle ragioni che hanno portato alla comparsa del bambino tirannico nelle società occidentali, e ha fornito come possibile risposta educativa quella della creazione di regole chiare e condivise tra l'educatore, o l'insegnante, e il bambino.
Perchè il bambino tirannico è anche un bambino triste.
Il bambino tirannico, sempre per riprendere gli esempi proposti da Daniele Novara, è anche un bambino che dice alla mamma:

I bambini hanno bisogno di regole, perchè è dentro alle regole che ci si forma e si cresce, sentendosi sicuri e rassicurati. La totale mancanza di regole è spaventosa, per un bambino, ben più del mostro nell'armadio.
Perchè le coppie di questa generazione non siano di fatto in grado di assumere un ruolo genitoriale è stato analizzato nel seminario e sarebbe riduttivo riportarlo qui, ma mi permetto di segnalare un sito su cui sono capitata per sbaglio, che credo valga più di centinaia di parole.
